Since 2011, Matthew Espinosa has been a partner at REW and focuses on
criminal and traffic defense trial work.
Espinosa was admitted into the State Bar of Texas in 2010 and serves as a
member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Dallas
Bar Association and Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Espinosa was previously a law clerk for Daniel C. Perez & Associates and
Ackerman & Savage, LLC, where he prepared cases for general civil and
criminal law practice.
He was a student attorney for the Southern Methodist University’s Federal
Taxpayers Clinic, where he represented low-income taxpayers before the
I.R.S. and the U.S. Tax Court. Also, he was the Historically Underutilized
Business (HUB) Program Administrator for UT Southwestern Medical
Center of Dallas, where he reported university minority and woman-owned
business (HUB) spending to the State of Texas.
